Praise the Omnissiah, some news at last! I haven't been posting as many news here as I hoped I would, but (and the people on our Discord server know) I have been unexpectedly overwhelmed with many, many cats to take care of this summer (a long story for another time)... However, I've dealt with these demonic creatures now, and in the meantime the machine spirits have been appeased, the sacred cogs properly oiled by our devoted testers: thanks to their feedbacks and suggestions, I've been working on implementing several improvements to make your participation in the narrative smoother even more impactful to the whole narrative and I'm pretty excited to present them to you today!
Party System
For those of you playing Crusade campaigns with your friends, or simply regular opponents who want to coordinate their efforts, the new Party System is here. Create a group, designate a leader, and they'll manage all the battles for the party—no more going through the invite process for every single game. It's a small quality of life improvement that should make group play much smoother, especially for established Crusade groups fighting together for their faction's glory.
Battle Reports
When you set the outcome of a battle (whether a "normal game" or as a party leader), you now have the option to provide a battle report. Tell us about your armies, your characters, what dramatic moments happened on the battlefield! These reports won't just disappear into the void—our campaign writers will tap into them to weave your personal stories into the broader narrative. Your victories, your defeats, your heroes—they can all contribute to make this campaign truly living and breathing.
If you like writing battle reports, I can only encourage you to share it with pictures or clips on our Discord server too! The more we see of your battles, the more impactful your armies become in the unfolding story (and I really like this kind of things!).
Expanded Lore
We've built a rich foundation for the narrative—the history of the system, the nature of each world, the factions vying for control, and the dark secrets buried in the storms. This quite expansive background flavor sets the stage upon which your battles will shape the future of these war-torn worlds!
A special thank you to Sita, who's been helping me develop the narrative side of the campaign! She's also working on bringing some special scenarios that will add even more depth to the campaign experience. More on that soon!
Join the Community
As we approach the end of the year with all its celebrations, it feels like the perfect time to remind you: 40k.gg is a community project: feel free to come and chat with us about our common hobby and passion!
I hope you will enjoy these new features, the expanded lore, and all the improvements that have been made to the platform. If you want to test things out during this "late closed beta" phase, feel free to enter the waiting list and DM me on Discord so I can give you access. But we're getting closer to kicking off the campaign, opening it to everyone and moving the narrative forward; I can't wait to see the fate of Morologus Novem unravel as you play it!
